"Good people make good coaches. In Andy and Dotsie's cases, they are not only good people, they are great people. Andy is one of the most dedicated, hard working coaches I have ever seen or been coached by. He loves the sport. His heart and desire are in the sport 100% and when he coaches you can't help but also love the sport and give it your best. Andy inspires greatness with his coaching and personality. Andy and Dotsie make such a great team because Dotsie is the female version of Andy.Dotsie is passionate about cycling and has a lot of experience both as a racer and as a mentor. Dotsie can't help but make you feel excited about a workout or race. Her happiness/personality rubs off on you and you ride better because of it."

"Since Chris DeMarchi began coaching me a little over a year ago my cycling performance has reached new levels. He keeps me motivated with customized training plans, which he tailors to meet my specific needs. Emphasizing power and fitness, Chris’s workouts effectively develop athletic potential. His vast racing experience has given him a wealth of cycling knowledge in technical skills, tactics and mental toughness, which he shares with enthusiasm. Thanks to Chris’s passion and encouragement, my confidence has grown and I am inspired to continue improving and stay on track with my cycling goals. Chris DeMarchi is an amazing coach and mentor."

“Thanks is in order for you. My power is back up there after that track camp! I got back in the 1000's for max watts during the road race. I think I only saw 700 before camp!”

"Where would I be without Empower Coaching Systems? Well I can say where I am with Empower Coaching Systems: Today I just won the 2010 Southern California Masters 35 + Criterium Championships. This is a personal victory for me as my goal is to win the 2010 Masters National Criterium and Road Race.
After having a rather unproductive 2009 season I joined The Empower Coaching Systems program in 2010. Empower Coaching Systems has provided me with a plan and structure to my training that I never had previously. The structure and planning provided are crucial for me as my full time job is super demanding and my training time is very limited. The strength and speed I have gained through the Empower program has also helped me to gain the confidence to go to the start line knowing I can win the race!
I feel great!! And I am racing better and stronger at age 44 than when I was racing the NRC calendar at age 26.
Woot woot!"

"I have been lucky enough in my short time in Ironman training to have found a coach like Chris DeMarchi. He was able to take me from a complete beginner athlete to a World Ranking athlete in Ironman 70.3 in one year. He is able to inspire and push me to my limits, limits that I never thought I had. Chris was able to see the potential in me and weather I liked it or not always pushed me to succeed. His never ending wealth and knowledge always amazes me. Many times when I thought I had a quick or silly question it ended up being times when I learned the most .When I was at my darkest times in training he was always there to pick me up and reassure me to trust in the process. I do trust him, and I succeeded because of it. Now with my 1st place win in Ironman Canada under my belt, I can’t wait to see what’s next. Chris has helped me live my dream not just dream it. I am forever grateful."

"Andy's ability to observe and interpret his athletes' progress mimics the dynamic nature of the sport and, for me, has proven to be an essential ingredient to success. You will not find someone more motivated to see you succeed in accomplishing your goals!"

"Since using Empower Coaching Systems and working directly with Dotsie Bausch, I have notice significant gains in my performance. I have always had no problem focusing on hard training, but I lacked being able to train hard for multiple days in a row. I also always had problems with multi day stage races. When Dotsie changed my nutrition program and educated me on the importance of proper recovery, It changed my cycling outlook for good. Empower Coaching Systems put me on a program with proper diet, vitamins, and recovery that has turned me into a wattage machine that can train hard multiple days in a row with excellent results. This in turn has made me a threat in almost all the races I do. I feel that this has opened doors to unlimited potential. I am truly grateful to Empower Coaching Systems for bringing out the best in me."

Dotsie's coaching helped take my training beyond my own intuitions. I came to Dotsie as a strong athlete, but lacking the know how to train specifically as a cyclist. With smart analysis on how the training effected my cycling results, I could really feel confident about my program. Last but not least, as a busy working professional, Dotsie was able to balance and tailor my training to suit my needs. A first class resource!

Let's face it, time is a precious commodity. As I struggled to balance training with a growing career and new family, I realized that I simply had to make the most of every minute on the bike.
I looked at several "canned" programs but in the end I determined that I truly needed the guidance of someone who was as personally committed to me as I am to the sport. The solution was Dotsie, she insists on getting to know each client before ever prescribing a training plan. Best of all, she understands that life throws us curveballs and she's always there to help me adjust my training to maximize every single moment on the bike.
After years of training by simply logging lots of miles, 2008 granted me more podium finishes than ever before. It wasn't a fancy carbon frame or super lightweight wheels that got me there. Nope, it was the passionate guidance of Dotsie Bausch. Tailwinds!

In 2004, I met Dotsie at her Empower Women's Cycling Camp. That, weekend spent with her, learning about race tactics, bike handling skills, and giggling with other girls on long, hilly rides--changed my life. In one weekend, I went from a recreational rider to competitive cyclist ready to take on the NorCal Cat. 4 women! Dotsie then became my coach and I learned not just how to properly train, but received insight on: nutrition for cycling, bike fit, mental toughness,r recovery, tactics, and much more. Dotsie always has a great attitude. She is very supporting in cycling and anything related to my mental well being, whether it be work stress, relationship problems, a bad day at a race, etc. She understands I work full-time and tailors my training schedule accordingly to maximize my training time. She is an expert in women's racing and her great advice is always included with my training plan. For example, I raced last year at Mt. Hood Cycling Classic, a UCI race and one of the hardest races I have ever done. After a not-so-great day, Dotsie was there with a positive attitude, understanding and advice to get me refocused; without her I think I would have quit the sport right then and there.

I am more than pleased with the investment I've made in having Dotsie as my personal coach. She has a spunk, zest and fire for women's cycling that is quite contagious! And you better believe that whatever she touches has some incredible results. I've appreciated how, with a genuine interest, Dotsie listens to the heartbeat and passion of her clients, then meets that passion with a training schedule and counsel that go far and beyond achievement expectations! I am amazed at how she's capitalized my strengths and developed my weaknesses....enabling me to become a well-rounded racer. Regardless if I raced incredibly smart or horribly stupid, Dotsie has always provided me with an outlook and viewpoint that make me feel as though I've gained a podium finish every time. She helps me to find those valuable "nuggets" of wisdom that can be gained from each racing experience. Although miles away, Dotsie has my training pegged to a "T." The training is so specific and tailored to me and my personality that I sometimes wonder if she's watching from my backyard! How can she do this without having ever once watched me race? Amazing!!
Truly blessed to have Dotsie as my coach!

My two years with Dotsie as my coach have been exceptional. She had a lot to work on with me all over the board: confidence, ability, tactics, fitness, and work/travel schedules. I came to her from an endurance background, but not realizing what bike racing really was all about. Once we met at Bike Camp, where she could get a much better idea of not only how I rode, but also where my strengths and weakness were in my cycling, my performance really took off! She not only instilled the confidence in me for wins and podium finishes this year, but also helped me to become a leader on my racing team. The schedules had to work around a lot of travel for my job and yet still I pulled out performances that wouldn’t have happened without her coaching. When I saw her at races, she was always encouraging and even lent me her Time Trial helmet for my own race! At the end of the season, with her encouragement, I’ve upgraded to a Cat. 3 and have a deep enthusiasm for progressing further in the coming years. She’s helped to place me in the ranks of Cyclocross and Road Racing. I will go back to Bike Camp 8 months later a different rider looking again to make that next leap in my racing and have no doubts this is possible with Dotsie’s coaching. As one of my teammates said to me, “your hard work and Dotsie’s coaching are an awesome combination!”

What do I have now after Dotsie's coaching? confidence, knowledge, & positive approach to life & cycling; Dotsie's coaching has changed me from an inexperienced, tentative new racer into a powerful, never-say-I-can't racer; I have learned ways to control & understand my nutritional needs & eating disorder while channeling that new strength into being a better, quality cyclist & person; Dotsie's coaching is the complete package: the benefits of a pro, the nutritional experience, & the life experience - you will be a better person & cyclist after working with Dotsie; Dotsie is always a presence & you can always talk with her, from day-to-day training to race consulting to life issues; you'll never feel bad or slip into the "I'm not a good rider" mode with Dotsie; she has an incredibly positive attitude toward everything; just knowing her is worth her coaching

I have realized that there are many good coaches out there, but the truly great ones are rare. Having worked with Dotsie for nearly an entire training and racing year, she has proven to be an extraordinary coach, selflessly giving anything and everything toward my own pursuit in cycling. Dotsie is someone that I trust, and that means quite a lot when you are persevering toward goals of your own. She has provided me personal training based on my abilities and goals as a female athlete, as well as advice from her own years of experience.
Since working with Dotsie, not only have I recognized a spectacular growth in my cycling abilities, both in fitness and tactics, but my love for the sport has continued to grow as a result of Dotsie’s never ending enthusiasm and zest for cycling. Dotsie has proven through example how far a mix of personal humility, an intense will to accomplish, honesty, integrity and passion for cycling can take you in this sport. Dotsie is a solid character, a well-respected cyclist in her field, a genuine mentor, and a truly great coach.

I've been working with Dotsie since the Fall of 2006. Because of her programs, awareness, passion for coaching and GREAT dedication to her clients, I now feel stronger on a bike than ever before. Till this day, Dotsie has been instrumental in offering a tremendous amount of support and guidance, both on and off the bike. And because of her knowledge and experience of racing in the women's pro circuit, Dotsie has been a HUGE help both mentally and tactically in races. I'll enter this season feeling confident that I've trained hard and with the ongoing motivation from my coach, I know I'll have another impressive season. Thanks Dots!

I have been using Empower Coaching for just about three years now. I found Dotsie's website after reading a cycling article on her. She not only a great cyclist but donates much of her time to great causes. I don't even race, i just want to get better, to keep up with the competitive weekly group rides that I go on. I not only ride better but have exceeding my own expectations. Dotsie is always available and gets right back to you on any questions or concerns you may have (even if she is out of the country). I especially like her emails that are about life issues, nutrition, and how to keep your head up. I look forward to my workouts and feel lost without them. I have consistently improved as a rider and I have her to thank for it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed having you for a coach this year. It has added another dimension to cycling & racing and made the season more structured & fun. I was challenged and able to improve mentally & physically thanks to your guidance. You always kept workouts interesting and helped me keep life & training balanced. I was inspired to push myself during races. One of the most important qualities to me, is sincerity--your encouragement & confidence in me was always completely sincere & very much appreciated. One of my favorite memories this year was lining up at Charlotte--it was awesome to be surrounded by some of the most talented bike racers in the country (and world!) and feel like I belonged there & know that you had faith in Lee & I to be there as well. Thanks for everything, Dotsie. You are truly a talented coach!
